This seaside mansion, built in 1888, has been a part of local history for over a century. Located in picturesque Prospect Harbor, your vacation get-away awaits. This 6,700 square foot home will meet all of your gathering needs with spacious rooms and harbor views. Sweeping views from the porches on the first and second floor overlook the working harbor and pier, the lobster boats and the Prospect Harbor lighthouse. Enjoy evenings by the fire pit or mornings hiking the 30 acres behind the house, complete with a bluff overlooking the harbor and ocean.
A fully equipped kitchen will make cooking a breeze with room for many cooks in the kitchen! A beautiful dining room with built in cabinets and a fire place will be the perfect spot for cozy meals. Or enjoy smaller gatherings in the breakfast room off of the kitchen. The large living room with huge picture windows looking onto the harbor is the perfect place to watch the sunrise. A fully appointed library awaits with a selection of books and movies, overstuffed chairs and sofas for relaxing and another breath taking view of the harbor through huge picture windows. On the second floor you will find 6 large bedrooms and 2 bathrooms,.
The Oceanview and Harborview rooms share a balcony overlooking the water. Both rooms have king beds and additional queen sleep sofa/mattress available for each room to sleep four people. The Lighthouse Point and Sailing Away rooms each have a queen bed and sitting area. The last 2 rooms, Captain's Quarters and the Lobster Lair each have two twin beds and another twin mattress is available. An additional queen sleep sofa is available in the living room and the home comfortably sleeps 19.
Originally from Gettysburg, Pennsylvania they moved to Prospect Harbor and welcome you to share their home. They live on site in an apartment on the property and are available for questions or support that you may need.
Easily accessible with the free bus that picks up and drops off three times a day across from the house. The bus travels through the Schoodic Peninsula portion of Acadia National Park, which is just 3 miles from the house. It stops at the Winter Harbor ferry where you can take a 45 minute water taxi to Bar Harbor, which is also a 45 minute drive. One hour north will find you in Lubec, the easternmost point and the first place the sun rises in the United States. From there, a short trip across the bridge and you will be visiting Campobello Island and the Roosevelt Campobello International Park before crossing into CANADA (don't forget your passports!).
Local restaurants and shopping in small seaside towns, all within 10 minutes by car, will keep you relaxing. Enjoy fresh seafood, lobster and Maine specialties. We can help you to locate a restaurant that will meet your needs! The local Sand Beach is less than a mile away. Enjoy live music and concerts at the Prospect Harbor Park, located just down the street from the house.
